Dr. Sheperd is a board-certified dermatologist and dermapathologist with over 15 years of experience in private practice. Throughout her career, Dr. Sheperd has been a committed proponent of individualized care where patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process. Dr. Sheperd believes that the skin is one of the first places that environmental and emotional stress surfaces. Because of this, her practice is focused on identifying underlying causes and delivering treatments that offer optimal results for the whole-self.

Dr. Sheperd graduated as an Echols Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia. She chose the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston to pursue her degree in medicine where she graduated as valedictorian. Dr. Sheperd went on to complete a residency in dermatology and a fellowship in dermatopathology, a subspecialty that focuses on the study of skin disease on a microscopic level, both at MUSC.

In addition to Western medicine, Dr. Sheperd has studied functional, Ayurvedic, vibrational and intuitive medicine along with botanical therapies and yogic philosophy. She has worked with masters in these disciplines and is passionate about continuing her research in alternative medicine by investigating various approaches to wellness.
